DNA AND VISION

DNA

Our population is a population that believes in its own people. In Milanits we do not want other ethnical groups to intrude our way of living. We are an independent nation that knows what is best. This means that we really value our freedom. Since we are the eldest population of the world, we also like to have our privacy and live our lives as calmly as possible. On top of that, nature is one of the most important factors in our lives. None of us believe in anything that causes pollution in our country. Milanits is an island so we are surrounded by the sea, we use this advantage in our everyday lives, so this makes us very big sea-lovers. A big part of our income comes from export via our numerous ports. We are hardworking people and we don’t believe in being lazy and hoping you will get somewhere in life. And lastly, we are big believers of god. We are Christians and God plays a big role in each and every family in Milanits.

VISION

“We strive to be the best country in the world. Our people are very hardworking people and we don’t appreciate others invading our systems. For us a wall is our only solution to keep our society as pure as can be. Finally, we aim to contribute to a healthy environment for our inhabitants.”

Our country is known for its boats. Our country was the first country to construct a boat like people know it today. We have the largest production of boats in the world. We have a very specific technique which is unique and typical for Milanits. All of our boats are handmade, so people pay for good quality. The prices of our boats range from 40.000-1.000.000 euros. The first boat was built in our capital New Alex. Robertieus Moeralisius is the person behind our famous boats. In 1490 he first came up with the idea of crossing the ocean by boat. He was a very clever scientist who dreamed about travelling all over the world. He was the first one to say that earth was round, not flat and he wanted to prove this. That’s when the idea of a boat was born. He died at the age of 32 in 1500 and left behind two sons. Florianius and Jontranias found their father’s plans to build a boat and they started constructing the first boat in honour of their father.

Another typical product in Milanits is rice pudding. We have an older population who have years and years of cooking experience. Ever heard of the saying “there’s no saying "No" to Grandma's Cooking”? This saying is very popular in Milanits. Rice pudding was invented in Milantis in the 1700’s. People from all over the world have tried to copy our rice pudding recipe, but all of them have failed. There is nothing like a Milantis rice pudding. We have many famous rice pudding restaurants. When you go out to eat our delicious dessert you pay between 5 and 9 euros.

A day in the life of Emma Johansson

She gets up at 7am and eats breakfast with her parents. Then she takes a moment to pray before getting ready for the day. Because she can’t find a paying job, she volunteers at the local hospital. She helps the elderly. She eats lunch with them, helps them in and out of bed and entertains them. At 6pm she leaves the hospital and visits her grandparents to eat dinner with the whole family. Around 8pm she returns home and starts helping her parents with the household chores. She goes to bed around 9.30pm, prays and reads her book.

Emma’s journey

One day Emma was volunteering in the hospital and the activity of the day was to go fishing. She was one of the supervisors during this day. One of our recruiters saw the work that she was doing and started talking to her. We told her that she does amazing work and that we can promise her a job in our country for two years where she will gain a lot of experience and where she will be paid. We told her about all the similarities; the sea-life, the fishing, the elderly, Christianity … She immediately was enthusiastic so we made an arrangement to meet again. She was a little bit unsure to leave her family behind, but we reassured her that this was the way to become an independent young woman and have her own life. 48 hours later she, amongst 20 others, came on our boat, signed the contract and we left. We did make sure that the contract appeared attractive to them, but in reality, it had a lot of hidden traps.

When she arrived in Milanits, she was placed in a house with ten other young girls.

She received a book on our country with what she had to know. We also gave her a uniform and two days later she started working in our rice pudding factory. It was hard work and after two weeks, she wanted to leave. But, in her contract it stated that she was obligated to work and stay in our country for two years. If she tried to escape, she would be put in prison for 30 years. Of course, Emma stayed without any contact from her home country, because this was also stated in her contract.

Her only escape from reality was fishing, this was allowed one day a week. After one year and a half she found the love of her life, a fisherman named Robertius. They started to plan out their lives in Milanits, but of course Emma was deported six months later. For the simple reason, it was stated in her contract, because we don’t want any immigrants living and making children in Milanits. Emma was put on boat again and was dropped off in Amania.
